Jarvis Cocker Shares New Jarv Is Track Must I Evolve?

Wednesday, 15 May 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Jarvis Cocker has shared a single from his new project, Jarv Is.

The group, helmed by the former Pulp frontman and joined by harpist Serafina Steer, Emma Smith, Andrew McKinney, Jason Buckle and Adam Betts of Three Trapped Tigers, launched at Sigur Ros’ Iceland festival last year, and is set to perform at All Points East on May 25 and at Primavera Sound at the end of the month.

The new single from Jarv Is, Must I Evolve?, while starting off a little angular, soon develops into a stomping piece of indie rock that vocally is delivered like the intense spoken word of Nick Cave and performed like the near trance-like rhythms of an upbeat Public Service Broadcasting track.
