Ty Segall Announces New Album 'First Taste', Shares Video For Lead Single

Ty Segall has announced a new album.
'First Taste' is scheduled to arrive on August 2 via Drag City and follows this year's live record, 'Deforming Lobes', and the 2018 double LP 'Freedom's Goblin'.
The prolific garage rocker has also shared the forthcoming record's psychedelic lead single, Taste, a loud, fuzz-fest which comes accompanied by a slasher film-inspired video directed by Joshua Erkman.
In the clip, the multi-instrumentalist plays a ruthless killer who disposes of members of his backing group, Freedom Band, before the narrative takes a surreal turn. "All members of The Freedom Band were murdered during the making of this video," reads a disclaimer at the end of the film.
Segall and the Freedom Band, comprising of Mikal Cronin, Shannon Lay, Charles Moothart, Emmett Kelly, and Ben Boye, have residencies lined up in North America and Europe. Each show will feature a performance of 'First Taste' in its entirety along with select cuts from Segall's career.
