The Dead South Announce Third Album 'Sugar & Joy', Share New Single Diamond Ring

Friday, 28 June 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

The Dead South will return with their third album this autumn.

Led by the foot-stomping first single Diamond Ring, the Canadian bluegrass quartet will release 'Sugar & Joy' on October 11 via Six Shooter Records.

The four-piece worked with FAME-studio trained producer Jimmy Nutt for the follow up to their 2016 sophomore album 'Illusion & Doubt'. Discussing the recording sessions with the band, Nutt said:

"They have an obvious dedication to what they are doing. They really encourage each other, which you don’t see a lot."

The band have live dates in the diary throughout the summer and will tour the UK and Ireland in early 2020, including a London show at the O2 Academy Brixton, where they'll become the first ever bluegrass band to headline the iconic venue. They also make their debut at Glastonbury this weekend.
