Foy Vance Announces Second New Album Of 2019 'To Memphis'

Foy Vance has announced the release of his second new album of the year.
Titled 'To Memphis' and recorded at Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis, Tennesse, the album serves as a companion release to 'From Muscle Shoals', which was released at the end of June. It's scheduled to arrive on September 6 via Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records/Elektra.
Head below to stream the record's lead track, The Strong Hand, which was produced by Vance with Matt Ross-Sprang. Deeply rooted in soul and Americana, the song previews the traditiions that the two albums pay homage to, as Vance explained:
"I have always been such a massive fan of American Folk Music in all its many forms. There is a certain candidness to it. The 'Americana' songs proved intriguing as somewhere very old and written somewhat wryly, but a good few were songs written in the last six months that felt like they belonged to these older ones in some way."
Vance will support the release of the two records with headlining tours in North America, the UK and Ireland throughout the autumn. Tickets are on sale now.
Additionally, the prolific singer-songwriter is set to will release a new studio album in 2020, a more traditional follow up to 'The Wild Swan'.
