Mandy Moore Returns With First New Song In 10 Years When I Wasn't Watching

Tuesday, 17 September 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Mandy Moore has returned to music with her first new song in a decade.

When I Wasn't Watching is a breezy pop track that boasts production by Grammy-nominated musician, songwriter and producer Mike Viola. It serves as the first preview of the singer-songwriter and actress's upcoming seventh album. Moore said:

"I think everyone’s had the experience of feeling lost and not quite understanding how you’ve found yourself at a certain point in your life. And I think the key is not to judge yourself for that. I'm a big believer in the idea that what you’ve journeyed through is ultimately going to factor into the person you become, and how you’ll greet whatever big challenge you face next."

The follow up to 2009's 'Amanda Leigh' is expected in early 2020, while a second single from the record is set to arrive before the end of the year.

The new song arrives with a Lauren Dukoff-directed video that finds Moore performing the song through various filters. Watch it below.
