Tegan And Sara Share New Single Don't Believe The Things They Tell You (They Lie)

Tegan and Sara have released a new single from their upcoming album, 'Hey, I'm Just Like You'.
The sibling duo continue to tease their ninth full length with Don't Believe The Things They Tell You (They Lie), a brooding, confessional ballad which examines deceit that cloud even the closest of relationships. It comes with a lyric video viewable below. Sara recalled:
"Our mother tells a story about watching the 1980s television show Punky Brewster with us when we were four years old. The episode's morality tale focused on lying, and near the end of the show, she describes one of us climbing onto her back, sobbing into her neck and confessing a lie we’d told her earlier in the day. At 15, we started telling lies again, and we absolved ourselves constantly in the lyrics of our songs."
Each song on 'Hey, I’m Just Like You' comes from Tegan and Sara's teenage years. The indie-pop pair decided to re-record them after discovering a trove of old cassette tapes while working on their upcoming memoir, High School, out on September 24.
The duo will release the album on September 27, coinciding with the launch of their North American tour. They return to the UK in November. Tickets are on sale now.
