Stone Temple Pilots Announce First Acoustic Album 'Perdida' And Accompanying North American Tour

Stone Temple Pilot have shared details of their first acoustic album.
Titled 'Perdida' (Spanish for loss), the self-produced 10-track record is scheduled for release on February 7 and marks the band's eighth studio album.
Recorded on vintage instruments at drummer Eric Kretz's Bomb Shelter Studio, the release finds the band taking a step back from their typical energetic, rock sound and has a sombre mood according to guitarist Dean DeLeo:
"You have to live it to write it, and this record is a reflection of where we’ve been recently."
The album marks the band's second full-length since X Factor star Jeff Gutt joined as vocalist in 2017, following frontman Scott Weiland’s death two years prior and temporary replacement Chester Bennington. Gutt added:
"I was trying to be vulnerable and that's a scary thing to do, but it's also kind of comfortable. I had to let myself be as vulnerable writing the lyrics as Dean and Robert were writing the music."
The band have also shared the new record's artwork, tracklist and lead single, Fare Thee Well, a wistful song full of warm guitar tones. Check it out below.
Stone Temple Pilots will support the LP with an unplugged 15-date North American tour, beginnning on February 5 in Vancouver and wrapping up on March 1 in Boston.
Each performance on An Evening With Stone Temple Pilots tour will see the band perform several songs from 'Perdida' as well as acoustic reworkings of tracks from their back catalogue. Tickets go on general sale at 3pm on December 6.
