Stone Temple Pilots are a rock band from San Diego, California.
Formed in 1985, the band currently consists of brother duo Dean and Robert DeLeo, Eric Kretz and Jeff Gutt. The original vocalist, Scott Weiland, left the band in 2013 and was replaced by the late Chester Bennington, of Linkin Park, who then passed away in 2017. Jeff Gutt, an X Factor runner-up, was then enlisted to take over the role the following year. The band released their debut album 'Core' in 1992 and, despite the traumas and obstacles the band have had to overcome, have since gone on to add an additional seven albums to their discography. Their most recent, 'Perdida,' arrived in 2020. Stone Temple Pilots will embark on a co-headline North American tour with LIVE in summer 2024. They've also scheduled a return to Australia in February and March 2025, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their second album, 'Purple'.
