Hayley Williams Shares Video For New Single Cinnamon, Releases 'Petals For Armor I'

Monday, 10 February 2020 Written by Helen Payne

Hayley Williams has shared a video for her latest single, Cinnamon.

The song arrives as part of ‘Petals For Armor I’, a five song collection revealing the first part of the Paramore frontwoman’s debut solo album, the full extent of which is due on May 8 via Atlantic.

Cinnamon continues William's streak of releasing surreal, Warren Fu-directed videos, this time with a protagonist being haunted and chased around a house by creatures in morph suits, before realising they make up part of her subconscious. The track itself is wacky and places a collection of vocal samples around a funky rhythm section.

The single follows the release of previous cuts Simmer Down and Leave It Alone. Williams explained:

“There are a lot of themes covered on the album as a whole and I thought it best to separate some of these themes so that there can be time for everyone to digest some of the songs before we move along to others. It’s a way to include people on the journey in the same way that I experienced it.”
