Alkaline Trio Release 'E.P.' Featuring Three New Tracks

Alkaline Trio have released new EP.
'E.P.' features three new tracks: Minds Like Minefields, Radio Violence and Smokestack, and was put out by the Chicago band in light of the postponement of their upcoming co-headline tour with Bad Religion. The North American shows were pulled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Guitarist and vocalist Matt Skiba said:
"With the tour postponed and the current state of the world, we feel and hope that some new music will help people transcend the uncertainty and possible fear they might be feeling, if even for a few minutes. Music has always had a way of helping us all cope with unpleasant times. We can only hope that ours can do the same for our fans on some level. We hope you enjoy the songs.”
Minds Like Minefields and Radio Violence will be available on a limited edition 7" — more about that here. Discussing the latter song, bassist and vocalist Dan Andriano said: "[Radio Violence is] a song about communication breakdowns, it’s about the lies we tell ourselves and others and it’s about shutting out those closest to us when we need them most.”
'E.P.' is the first material to emerge from trio since the release of their last album, 2018's 'Is This Thing Cursed?'.
