Bob Dylan Surprise Releases First New Song In Eight Years Murder Most Foul

Bob Dylan has returned with an original song, Murder Most Foul.
The surprise 17-minute opus, which Dylan said was recorded "a while back", comes eight years after 'Tempest', his last album to feature his own work.
The track is a sprawling, stripped back piano-led ballad recounting the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy in 1963, as well as other iconic moments of the decade, from the Beatles to Altamont and Woodstock. A brief statement reads:
"Greetings to my fans and followers with gratitude for all your support and loyalty over the years. This is an unreleased song we recorded a while back that you might find interesting.
Stay safe, stay observant and may God be with you. Bob Dylan"
Since 2012, the legendary singer-songwriter has put out three instalments of interpretations of songs from the Great American Songbook, the last of which was 'Triplicate' three years ago.
Dylan is set to tour North America with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats this summer. Tickets are on sale now.
