Following the previously shared Come Back And Love Me, Just Like Kids (Miau) is the latest cut to be lifted from the Spanish quartet’s forthcoming LP, ‘The Prettiest Curse’, which is set to arrive on June 5 via Lucky Number. The original release date of April 3 was scrapped over concerns regarding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Lyrically, the track sees the band brush off remarks they have received from music industry snobs in the past, as scrappy guitar leads bounce atop a gloriously catchy pop structure. The accompanying video, meanwhile, shows the indie-rockers jamming out to the upbeat single in front of eye-poppingly bright backdrops. Hinds said:
“Miau is a cocktail of all the comments and 'advice' we’ve had to listen to during all of our years in the band, from random strangers, 'friends', and industry professionals. Oh wait…the guy sitting next to you on the bus probably has an opinion too! If you have wondered how it feels to be a girl in a band, here you go.”
Hinds are set to support the new album with a rescheduled headline UK tour, which will take place throughout September. Check out the dates below.
