John Prine's last recorded track has been released.
The renowned folk and country singer-songwriter passed away on April 7 after contracting COVID-19. He penned the song with his longtime collaborator and friend Pat McLaughlin, then recorded it in his living room with the Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb — who also helmed Prine's last album, 2018's 'The Tree Of Forgiveness'.
The track finds Prine finger-picking his acoustic guitar, while looking back on his life lyrically, with words that now strike a much more poignant chord: "And I remember every town, And every hotel room, And every song I ever sang, On a guitar out of tune."
