Coachella has been officially cancelled for 2020, with organisers confirming new dates for the festival’s return next year.

The California festival, which was due to be headlined by Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott, had initially been pushed from April to October due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it has now been pulled along with its country counterpart Stagecoach.

The news was announced earlier this week by health officials, with promoters Goldenvoice now releasing revised dates for 2021. Coachella will return on the weekends of April 9-11 and April 16-18, with Stagecoach inked in for April 23-25 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

“We can’t wait to be together in the desert again when it is safe,” a statement reads. Ticket holders are set to be contacted shortly with the option to roll their passes over to next year or request a refund, while line up announcements will follow. Read the whole statement below.
