The War On Drugs have announced a live album.

'Live Drugs' will arrive on November 20 via Super High Quality Records, band leader Adam Granduciel’s label, and is made up of tracks taken from over 40 hard drives of live recordings from throughout the band's career.

The record has been sequenced in such a way as to replicate the flow of a 70-minute show, and to help achieve this it was co-produced by Dominic East, long-time friend, guitar technician and stage manager for the band. Granduciel said:

“As a band leader, I always want to know where a song can go. Even though we’ve recorded it, mastered it, put it out, and been touring on it, it doesn’t mean that we just have to do it the same way forever.

"It feels like it’s kind of a reset, to be able to put something out that’s a really good interpretation of the way we interpret our music live. Even though this recording is from a year of tours, this is really how these six guys evolved as a band from 2014 to 2019.”

Head below to check out the album's first single, Pain (Live), artwork and tracklist. The LP is the War On Drugs' first full-length release since 2017's Grammy-winning 'A Deeper Understanding'. Since then, they've been busy working on its follow-up, remixing the previously unreleased Rolling Stones track Scarlet, and recording exclusive performances for non-profit organisations such as Vote Ready for voter registration.

  1. An Ocean Between The Waves (Live)
  2. Pain (Live)
  3. Strangest Thing (Live)
