Angel Olsen has shared a home recording of a new song.
Time Bandits is a slow, mournful, 11-minute piano-based composition that reflects on living in the here and now. Uploading it to Instagram on October 11, the singer-songwriter revealed she penned the song just a few weeks ago but made no reference to the 1981 Terry Gilliam film of the same name. She said:
"I wrote this after I came home from St. Louis a few weeks ago... against better judgement I’ve decided to put new songs up, it’s a business but it’s my business."
It follows the August release of Olsen's fifth studio album, 'A Whole New Mess', as well as recent covers of tracks by Billie Holiday, George Harrison and Bobby Vinton.
Her postponed summer date at Newcastle's Tyne Theatre and Opera House has been rescheduled to March 7, 2021. Tickets for the original date remain valid.
