Manic Street Preachers have rescheduled their upcoming Cardiff shows.
The Welsh rockers were due to play a free concert for NHS workers on December 4 at the Welsh capital's Motorpoint Arena and a public concert with all profits going to NHS charities the next day. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the shows have been moved to July 16 and 17, respectively.
All original tickets remain valid for the corresponding new dates. The band said:
“We wanted to do something to show our appreciation, love and respect for the NHS and its amazing brave workers. One free show and one fundraising show seemed the best way for us to express our deep gratitude for all their heroic work. We tried our hardest to make these shows happen in December but due to the current situation have had to move them to 2021.”
The coronavirus pandemic had already forced them to reschedule their summer show at Halifax's Piece Hall, with a new date in the diary for June 27. They will also support the Killers at their rescheduled shows at Ricoh Arena in Coventry on May 29 and Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on June 10.
UPDATE // Manic Street Preachers (@Manics) have moved their shows in support of @NHSuk at @MotorpointDiff to July 2021! Original #tickets will be honoured.
