Hollywood Undead Announce New Album, Share New Version Of Heart Of A Champion Feat Jacoby Shaddix

Friday, 16 October 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

Hollywood Undead have announced their seventh studio LP.

'New Empire, Volume 2' will arrive on December 4 and will include a new version of their single Heart Of A Champion featuring special guests Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach and Ice Nine Kills' Spencer Charnas.

The overdue synth-driven collaboration was created in January 2020 but subsequently delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Check out its explosive chorus via an accompanying video which plays out in the style of 16-bit video games. Hollywood Undead's Johnny 3 Tears said:

"Heart Of A Champion is about digging in deep when things appear at their worst. Finding the strength to overcome any and all odds against you."

Shaddix added: "As soon as Johnny and Charlie and the boys floated the idea, we were in. The video shoot was like a reunion too - Last time we all saw each other we were blowing the doors off a show in Germany seven months ago."

Charnas revealed: "I've always been a fan of Hollywood Undead and when we toured together this past winter we hit it off immediately. It's an honor to be part of such a strong song and having Jacoby on it as well is just the icing on the god damn cake."

Produced by Matt Good, the LP serves as the second instalment of the Los Angeles rap-metal band's two part album which began with 'New Empire, Volume 1' in February. Check out the artwork and tracklist below.
