Benee has served up another slice of her forthcoming album.

Swiftly following Lily Allen and Flo Milli collaboration Plain, the lo-fi Happen To Me candidly tackles the New Zealand native's fear of death over layers of minimalist indie-pop beats and echoey vocals. She explained:

“This song is super important to me. It’s the opening track [on the album]. It’s the first song where I’ve written about anxiety. The lyrics are pretty dark. Life is pretty crazy right now, and I think it’s important to talk about this kind of stuff.”

The 20-year-old's debut LP, 'Hey u x', is scheduled to land on November 13, and will contain the TikTok smash-hit Supalonely featuring Gus Dapperton, alongside tracks with Grimes, Kenny Beats and Bakar.
