Steve Earle and the Dukes have announced a new album.
'J.T.' will pay tribute to Earle's son, Justin Townes Earle, who passed away in August. The record will feature 10 covers of tracks written by Justin, and a new song penned by Steve just after his death. It will arrive digitally on January 4, what would have been the late singer-songwriter's 39th birthday, with a physical release set to follow on March 19.
All of the artist advances and royalties from 'J.T.' will be donated to a trust for Etta St. James Earle, the three-year-old daughter of Justin and Jenn Earle.
Head below to hear the band's rendition of Harlem River Blues, the title track of Justin's third album that came out in 2010. It won Song of the Year at the 2011 Americana Music Honors & Awards Show.
