Ice Cube has released a new song, Trying To Maintain.
Set against a bassy backdrop, the mid-tempo track rolls out over the hip hop legend's laid-back flow and airy synths while sending a message to his recent detractors.
"To everybody tryin' to maintain, with a little Mary Jane on the campaign, we buy you in the fast lane, only act like this 'cause the black ain't, fuck your cancel culture, bitch, you can’t cancel a soldier, quit," he raps.
It serves as the former N.W.A. member's first new solo music since his 10th studio album, 'Everythang’s Corrupt', released in 2018.
