Posthumous Tony Allen LP 'There Is No End' Feat. Skepta, Danny Brown And More To Be Released

Friday, 12 March 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

A posthumous Tony Allen album will be released this spring.

The late Afrobeat drummer began writing and producing 'There Is No End' before he died suddenly in spring 2020 aged 79.

Co-producers Vincent Taeger and Vincent Taurelle have since completed the production with a release set for April 30 via Blue Note — marking the one-year anniversary of Allen's death. It'll feature guest rappers and singers such as Sampa The Great, Danny Brown, and Lava la Rue, among others.

As a preview, the label has unveiled its lead single, Cosmosis, a catchy fusion of samples and dub and electronica sounds featuring grime superstar Skepta and Nigerian poet Ben Okiri. It was co-produced by Damon Albarn with Remi Kabaka and arrives along with the record's artwork above and tracklist below.
