Gorillaz To Play Free Show For NHS Workers At London's O2 Arena In August

Wednesday, 21 July 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Gorillaz have announced a free show this summer for NHS workers and their families.

The group will take over London's O2 Arena on August 10, with tickets available to NHS staff from 12pm on July 23. Head here for further details. The band's drummer, Russel Hobbs said:

"Reap what you sow, y'know what I’m saying? We don’t just want to say thank you, we want to do thank you too, because we care about the people who care for us."

Steve Sayer, Vice President and General Manager at The O2 added: "This is such a big moment for us. Our first live show in over 500 days, with one of the UK's best bands playing to an audience made up of NHS staff and their families. We have missed the fans and live performances so much, we couldn’t be more proud to reopen with this event and to welcome such a great audience."

The concert will take place the day before Gorillaz play a previously confirmed public show at the venue on August 11. They also headline Boardmasters that same month.

Their latest album, the guest-heavy 'Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez', was released in October 2020.

Gorillaz Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Tue August 10 2021 - LONDON O2 Arena
Wed August 11 2021 - LONDON O2 Arena
