The National have shared a new song, Somebody Desperate.
The haunting track marks the band's first new material since 2019, and features over the end credits of the upcoming Peter Dinklage musical film, Cyrano.
The feature-length's music was written and composed by The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner, while singer Matt Berninger and his wife Carin Bessner penned lyrics. The official soundtrack is due out through Decca Records on vinyl and CD formats on December 10, with the film coming to UK cinemas in January.
The Joe Wright-directed film is an adaptation of a stage musical written by Dinklage's wife Erica Schmidt, based on the classic play Cyrano de Bergerac.
The American band have a run of rescheduled UK and Ireland shows in the diary for summer 2022.
