Heart Vocalist Ann Wilson Announces New Album 'Fierce Bliss', Shares First Single Greed

Tuesday, 08 February 2022 Written by Jon Stickler

Heart vocalist Ann Wilson has announced a new solo album.

'Fierce Bliss' is set for release on April 29 via Silver Lining Music and is preceded by the first single, a vigorous big riff rocker called Greed that shows off the singer's legendary powerhouse vocals. She said:

"Greed is that thing in our animal nature that makes us want MORE. Whether it be money, sex, power or ecstasy, it fires our craving! It happens with all of us. When you turn around and catch yourself making decisions because you want the money, or because you’re caught in the headlights of glory, well, those are greedy moments."

She added: "I think people who claim to have made every decision from a root of pure idealism, and never done anything dark or greedy, is lying. I think everybody who ventures into especially the music industry hoping for a career with big success, ends up making these Faustian bargains at some point even if only briefly. It’s an aggressive song and I think I write best when I’m angry."

Head below to view the tracklist, which includes a handful of songs Wilson has performed live, such as a cover of Queen's Love Of My Life, and Jeff Buckley's Forget Her. Vince Gill, a touring member of Eagles, along with Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule also feature on the record. The LP's artwork is by Roger Dean, renowned for his work on classic Yes sleeve covers.

Wilson and her band, The Amazing Dawgs, will kick off a run of tour dates on February 19 in Metairie, Louisiana, with more shows to be announced soon. Head here for details.
