Produced by Guy Chambers and Richard Flack, the song will appear on the former Take That member's upcoming 25th anniversary album, 'XXV', due out on September 9 via Columbia Records.
Comprising poignant lyrics, piano, and soaring strings, the emotional ode to difficult times marks the first original recording to be shared from the orchestral greatest hits collection, which features newly recorded versions of his best loved tracks.
Both the standard and deluxe versions will include Lost, but only the latter will include three more original cuts; Disco Symphony, More Than This and The World And Her Mother. Williams said in a statement:
"Lost is about the times in my life when I've abandoned myself to reckless behaviour.
"I hope you all love this track as much as I do. It means a lot to me. I can’t wait to see you all in October."
Previously unveiled tracks from the record so far include the reworked versions of Angels, Eternity and The Road To Mandalay.
Williams was recently confirmed as a headliner for this year's BBC Radio 2 Live at Temple Newsam Park in Leeds on September 18. He'll also take his XXV Tour across the UK this autumn.
