Linkin Park Announce 'Meteora' 20th Anniversary Reissue, Share Previously Unheard Track Lost

Friday, 10 February 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Linkin Park have announced a 20th anniversary edition of 'Meteora', and unveiled a previously unheard track.

Teased on social media earlier this week, the powerful Lost features the vocals of the late Chester Bennington, and is reminiscent of some of the most popular nu-metal anthems from the Los Angeles rock band. It comes paired with an anime-style video, directed by Maciej Kuciara and pplpleasr, produced by Shibuya, and with artificial intelligence work by Kaiber, Jacky Lu and Sagans.

Mike Shinoda commented: "Finding this track was like finding a favourite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. For years, fans have been asking us to release something with Chester’s voice, and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to make that happen in such a special way. I think they’re going to be floored when they hear and see all the incredible unreleased songs and video footage in METEORA|20."

The reissue, meanwhile, will arrive on April 7 in multiple formats, including limited physical editions on triple CD, four-disc LP, and a super deluxe" box set. Both the regular CD and vinyl sets will include the original 'Meteora' tracklist, as well as Lost, plus 19 demos, live rarities and rarities from the band's studio vault.

The news comes after Linkin Park put out a 20th anniversary edition of 'Hybrid Theory' in 2020, and a deluxe edition of 2007's 'Minutes To Midnight' in 2022. The group have been on hiatus since Bennington's death in 2017.
