Aerosmith have announced their final tour.

The legendary rock band, who are now all in their 70s, will bring the curtain down on more than five decades together with a 40-date run, kicking off at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on September 2, with further arena shows scheduled in major cities through January 2024.

Stops include Los Angeles' Kia Forum, New York's Madison Square Garden, Austin's Moody Center, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, Chicago’s United Center, Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, and more, with The Black Crowes as special guests. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on May 5.

The group, who are known for hits such as Dream On, Walk This Way and I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, confirmed the news with a teaser video yesterday (May 1), featuring cameos from Ringo Starr, Dolly Parton and Eminem.

"It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives," Aerosmith said in a statement.

They also revealed that Joey Kramer will be absent from the trek, just as he did not take part in the 2022 dates of the band's Las Vegas residency. Instead, John Douglas will drum in Kramer's place. The band added: "While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed."

Aerosmith released their self-titled debut album in 1973, and have gone on to put out 14 more studio records, the latest being 2012's 'Music From Another Dimension!'

The announcement comes after frontman Steven Tyler was recently sued by a woman who claims that the vocalist sexually assaulted her when she was a child in the 1970s. Tyler has denied the allegations.
