Christine And The Queens has shared a new single, Tears can be so soft.
Following Be Honest and True love featuring 070 SHAKE, it's the third preview of Héloïse Létissier's new album, 'PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE', which is scheduled to arrive on June 9 via Because Music.
Emotive with soulful vocals over layers of strings, it comes with an accompanying video directed by Létissier and shot in Los Angeles.
"Tears can be so soft was born out of the marriage of a Marvin Gaye sample that caught my attention, this intoxicating, elegant, almost poised in its melancholy string arrangement," Chris said in a statement. He added that he wanted to create, "this deep sense of almost womb-like, hypnotic space where the voice could soar in its loneliness, an interplay between the suffering that motivates tears and the gentle healing effect they can have."
Christine And The Queens have UK and European shows lined up throughout the summer and autumn, including curating and performing at London's Meltdown Festival in June. He'll also appear at Glastonbury Festival and Wilderness Festival, before a headline tour in the autumn.
