ANOHNI and the Johnsons have shared a new single, Why Am I Alive Now?.

Guided by haunting, soulful vocals that float over instrumentation from co-producer Jimmy Hogarth, it serves as a final preview of their new album, 'My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross', out via Secretly Canadian/Rough Trade this Friday (July 7).

It'll be joined on the record by the previously unveiled tracks Sliver Of Ice and It Must Change. Head below to view the cinematic video, directed by Euphoria star Hunter Schafer, who said:

"I started listening to Anohni in high school, so it’s a huge honor to help her build a visual world for WAIAN. This music video was an honest attempt to answer the question that WAIAN begs, Why Am I Alive Now? I wanted to focus on the idea of finding sisterhood in a world that does nothing to help - I hope the direction, choreography, and tone conveys a small piece of that journey."

'My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross' marks the first studio release credited to ANOHNI and the Johnsons since 'Swanlights' in 2010, though the former did drop her solo debut, 'Hopelessness', in 2016, and the subsequent companion EP 'Paradise' a year later.
