Guitarist Jeff Schroeder Parts Ways With The Smashing Pumpkins

Jeff Schroeder has announced his exit from The Smashing Pumpkins.
The guitarist, who has been a part of the band since 2006, confirmed the news on the group's official social media channels.
"Although it was a very difficult decision to make, I’ve decided to leave the band to make some space to explore a slightly different path," Schroeder wrote. "I wish the band all the success in the future. I will be watching and listening."
The remaining members of the group, Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha, also shared their own joint statement on his departure.
"We thank Jeff for his ceaseless dedication to the band and our great fans. Words can not express our gratitude and appreciation for the friend he is, and being there for SP in the good times and the tough times, too."
Schroeder joined the American alt-rock legends during the mid noughties, after Corgan and Chamberlin reunited to record 2007's 'Zeitgeist'. Touring with the band from 2007, he recorded with the group over the next decade and features on this year's 'Atum' LP.
