DJ Spoony, Byron Messia And Soul II Soul Among Performers Confirmed For MOBO Awards

The hosts and first live performers have been announced this year's MOBO Awards.
DJ Spoony, Byron Messia and MOBO Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Soul II Soul will all take the stage at the 26th annual ceremony, which will take place for the first time in Sheffield, at the Utilita Arena on February 7. More live acts are to be announced.
The event will also be hosted by comedian Babatúndé Aléshé and presenter Indiyah Polack. Babatúndé said:
"This is just massive and I am so honoured. The MOBO Awards are something you grow up watching and now to be able to say I’m a part of it… it’s an amazing feeling. Indiyah and I are gonna bring some VIBES!"
Indiyah commented: "Having watched the MOBO Awards since I was young, then getting to present an award last year, to now hosting the show with Babatúndé… this is like the hugest job ever, and I’m excited! There are so many artists I listen to that have been nominated as well, so it’s going to be a real ‘pinch me’ moment on the night."
Leading up to the ceremony, MOBO Awards Sheffield - The Fringe will take place on February 5, with a talent showcase event spotlighting new and emerging acts from the MOBO genres. The city will also host a music industry panel featuring leading figures in the industry.
The nominations for the 2024 MOBO Awards were revealed in December, with Mercury Prize-winner Little Simz and South London grime star Stormzy leading the pack with four nods. Central Cee, Pinkpantheress, J Hus and Raye will battle it out with three nods each. Check out the full list here.
