Becky Hill Unveils New Song True Colours Featuring Self Esteem

Becky Hill has released a new track.
True Colours finds the powerhouse vocalist recounting a personal experience of sexual assault by someone she trusted, and not being believed. Despite its heavy lyrical content, the track is a defiant, club-ready banger. An intentional move Hill explained:
“I didn’t want it to be emotional and I didn’t want it to be angry – I’ve had years of therapy to examine that anger and not allow it to inform me, who I am. Self Esteem is an artist I’ve been a huge fan of for the longest time so I’m super excited to have her on the track as I think the song resonates for both of us. It’s also the first track on the album so you really get a taste of what is to come. I hope everyone loves it as much as we do.”
“As a huge fan of Becky it was an honour to hop on such an important track," added Self Esteem. "We share a desire to turn these negative experiences into one of teaching and catharsis. ‘True Colours’ is another opportunity for both.”
The song is the latest to be lifted from Hill's new album, 'Believe Me Now?', which is due out next Friday (May 31). She's previously previewed the record with cuts Side Effects with Lewis Thompson, Never Be Alone featuring Sonny Fodera, Outside Of Love and Right Here.
The two-time BRIT Award-winner has a busy few months ahead, with headline shows and festival sets lined up across the UK, Europe and the US, where she'll return to in November for a longer run. Head below for dates and ticket details.
