Spirit Of The Beehive have laid out plans for a new album.

'You’ll Have To Lose Something' will arrive through Saddle Creek Records on August 23, following up 2021's 'Entertainment, Death' and their 2023 EP 'I'm So Lucky'.

Comprising 12 songs, the LP continues with themes of dissolving relationships and heartbreak, a topic that was prominent on last year's EP, which reflected on the break-up of guitaris-vocalist Zack Schwartz and bassist-vocalist Rivka Ravede's romantic relationship.

Alongside the news, the Philadelphia trio have shared the first single, Let The Virgin Drive, which opens with auto-tuned vocals before a rhythmic strummed acoustic groove propels the track through Japanese City pop samples and a news clip of someone screaming. Head below to view the unnerving Daniel Patrick Brennan–directed video. Schwartz said:

"It's about unrequited love and making up a situation or whole life in your head. The other person finally ‘sees you’ and your ‘problems are solved,’ but they aren’t, really."

Brennan described the accompanying clip as, "a video about trying to cure your loneliness through material means, courage, impulsivity, and chopping your finger off after cutting an avocado."

The band have scheduled a North American tour that will commence in the fall, featuring support from Winter between September 23 and October 16, and Kassie Krut for the remaining dates. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 14). Head here for details.
