Coldplay have unveiled a video for The Karate Kid.
The track features on the expanded, deluxe edition of the chart-topping British band's latest album, 'Moon Music', and is available to order on a limited edition red 7" featuring with All My Love on the flip side, here.
The Chris Candy-directed clip, meanwhile, stars Daniel LaRusso himself, The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai actor Ralph Macchio, and was filmed in Melbourne during the recent Australian and New Zealand leg of Coldplay's Music of the Spheres World Tour. Macchio said:
"When Chris Martin pops up on your FaceTime asking you to help create a video to accompany what I found to be a beautifully emotional and poignant song - one inspired by a film I made over 40 years ago - there was only one answer. Having the opportunity to join Coldplay in Australia at one of their legendary live shows to collaborate on this music video was nothing short of a career highlight. The synergy with Chris, the band and our director Chris Candy was as pure as any I’ve experienced. I'm excited to share this with the world."
Coldplay will play Capital's Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena in London on December 7. In the spring, they'll launch another North American leg of their tour, following shows in Abu Dhabi and Mumbai in January, and Hong Kong and Seoul in April. In the summer, they'll play 10 sold-out shows at London's Wembley Stadium and two nights at Hull's Craven Park Stadium. Tickets are on sale now.
The band released 'Moon Music', their 10th studio album and follow-up to 2021's 'Music Of The Spheres', in October.
