Oscar Jerome has announced a new album.
The follow-up to 2022's 'The Spoon' is titled 'The Fork' and will arrive on April 4 via New Soil. It marks the first record that the London-based musician has produced entirely himself, and began when Jerome started to sample tracks from its predecessor, building them into new songs.
As a preview, Jerome has shared the brooding title track, which combines elements of jazz and R&B with delicate guitar lines and icy synths and strings. It arrives with a short film that mirrors the themes within the record. He explained:
"The Fork explores the challenge of letting go of the self, letting go of the individual and the ego. Allowing yourself to be at one with nature, at one with the cycle of time, life and death, connecting on a deeper level with others and with existence. Allowing yourself to wholeheartedly trust, love and learn. The music presents some things I have reflected on or learnt along the way and I hope some people will listen and relate or reflect within themselves."
Jerome shared the album's opening track, Desert Belly, last month. He'll accompany the release with a previously scheduled UK and European tour in April and May. Tickets are on sale now.
