The Beta Band have announced UK shows for later this year.
The returning Scottish band will call in Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol, Nottingham, London and Manchester between September 25 and October 4, as part of a reunion tour that also features North American shows between October 12 and November 1.
The dates will see the group celebrating their first three EPs, 1997's 'Champion Versions', and 1998's 'The Patty Patty Sound' and 'Los Amigos del Beta Bandidos', plus fan favourites from their discography. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (March 7).
The Beta Band, comprising singer and guitarist Steve Mason, bassist Richard Greentree, keyboardist John Maclean and drummer Robin Jones, split in 2004 after touring in support of their third album, 'Heroes To Zeros', released earlier that year. On getting back together, they said:
"The Beta Band, as everyone knows, is an institution, like Bedlam, or the RSPCA, and as such has its own indelible stain on the bedsheet of Western culture. It was the great John Noakes who said 'you have to shake it out at least once every couple of decades, if you want to know what the moths did'. So with both those facts in mind, we realise the time has come to show the wall the Luminol, kill the lights and hit the UV."
In addition to the tour dates, The Beta Band will reissue their 1998 'The Three E.P.'s' compilation as a deluxe double vinyl edition via Because Music on July 11. The collection features music from 'Champion Versions', 'The Patty Patty Sound' and 'Los Amigos del Beta Bandidos'.
