Shamir Announces Final Solo Album 'Ten' With New Single Recording 291

Thursday, 17 April 2025 Written by Jon Stickler

Shamir has announced his final solo album.

'Ten' is aptly named as it's the Philadelphia-based musician and producer's 10th solo LP and will arrive through Kill Rock Stars on May 19, a decade since the release of his studio debut, 'Ratchet'. The record features songs written by Shamir's friends, live instrumentation and production by Allen Tate.

To coincide with the news, Shamir has shared a new single, Recording 291, a melancholic alt-pop offering that was co-written by Shamir and Paige Pfleger, who also wrote and starred in the song's accompanying video, which was directed by J.D. Biskner and shot on a vintage Super 8 camera. It follows last month's track Neverwannago in previewing the project.

Shamir put out his latest album, 'Homo Anxietatem', in 2023.

'Ten' tracklist:

1. I Love My Friends
2. Neverwannago
3. I Don’t Know What You Want From Me
4. I Know We Can’t Be Friends
5. Die
6. Offline
7. Golden
8. Recording 291
9. Pin
10. 29
