Alice Cooper has announced a new album.
'The Revenge of Alice Cooper' will arrive on July 25, marking the first time all four surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band—Cooper, guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway and drummer Neal Smith—have released an album together in 52 years. The record also includes a special appearance by late Cooper guitarist Glen Buxton, who died in 1997.
Produced by longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, who also worked on a number of classic Alice Cooper albums, it's the reunited line-up's first LP together since 1973's 'Muscle Of Love'. Following that, the shock rock icon went on to establish himself as a solo artist under the same pseudonymous moniker.
The album's first single and opening track, Black Mamba, which features Robby Krieger of The Doors, will premiere on Cooper's syndicated radio show, Alice's Attic, later today (April 22). Introducing it, Ezrin said:
"When we started to play that, it’s when I knew the spirit of the Alice Cooper group was back and that what we were making was very much an album that could’ve been in the ’70s, when we were last together."
Alice Cooper will head out for an extension of his Too Close For Comfort Tour across the US this spring and summer. He'll also embark on a co-headline North American tour with metal gods Judas Priest in September.
Cooper and Priest will also co-headline the O2 Arena in London on July 25, following his headline shows at Cardiff's Utilita Arena on July 22, and the Edinburgh Playhouse on July 23, his only performances in Wales and Scotland this year. Tickets are on sale now.
He released his most recent studio album, 'Road', in 2023.
