Shopping have released their last single together.
Written during the band's final recording sessions and produced by Vice Cooler, White Noise marks the post-punk trio's first release since their 2020 LP 'All Or Nothing', following a hiatus prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Self-released by their original label Milk Records, who launched their 2013 debut 'Consumer Complaints', the swan song channels a new wave energy with sharp, looping guitars, and serves as a heartfelt goodbye to fans who have supported them since 2012. In a statement, Shopping said:
"This is the last thing we’ll release as Shopping — a gift to everyone who found something meaningful in our music, our shows, and our politics. It’s a reminder that something joyful, weird, and defiant can exist on your own terms, as well as a somber acknowledgment of how much things have changed over the past five years. We’re so proud of what we made together and so grateful to everyone who danced, shouted, and sweated with us in spaces around the world."
Check out the song's accompanying video, directed by bassist-vocalist Billy Easter, which collects archival tour and studio footage from throughout the band's history.
