Paz Lenchantin, bassist, vocalist and co-writer for legendary bands Pixies, A Perfect Circle, Zwan, and The Entrance Band, has announced her debut solo album.

Conceived and written in Petatlán, Mexico, 'Triste' will arrive on October 17 via her own Hideous Human Records label.

Comprising 12 songs that explore themes of faith, doubt and self-discovery, reflecting Lenchantin's own journey after leaving Pixies, the record takes shape through her American rock roots and Latin folk textures, plus piano and string arrangements.

She recorded all the instruments herself, before reuniting with former A Perfect Circle bandmates Josh Freese (drums) and Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar), as well as longtime friend Jeffertiti on lead single Hang Tough, a haunting and emotional ballad. She said:

"I had to make this record on my own—not to prove anything, but just to have faith that music can nurture me back. And it did."

Tour dates in support of the album are set to be announced in due course.
