Cat Burns has laid out plans for her second album.
The multi-BRIT and 2024 Mercury Prize nominee will release 'How To Be Human' on October 31, following up her 2024 debut 'Early Twenties'.
Written entirely by the South London artist and poised to be her most personal and reflective release yet, it'll explore themes of emotional growth, heartbreak, loss and love across 16 tracks, including the singer's recent singles All This Love and GIRLS! She said:
"'How To Be Human' is about the last year of my life. I experienced the death of a loved one and my first relationship heartbreak at the same time and genuinely had no idea how I would get through the situation. Making this album was my introspective and neurodivergent way of navigating heartbreak and the loss of my Grandad who I was extremely close to - it’s my comfort album.
"While making it I realised how many people it could help, I know there are so many people going through similar struggles. I hope it provides them some comfort too and shows how you can pick yourself back up."
The announcement comes ahead of Burns' appearance at All Points East in London's Victoria Park tomorrow (August 23), where she'll join the likes of Tyla, JADE and more in supporting headliner RAYE.
She'll also play Together for Palestine at the OVO Arena Wembley in London on September 17, ahead of a UK tour in the autumn. She's lined up headline shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Brighton, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Bristol and London, where she'll play the O2 Academy Brixton, between November 19 and 30. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on August 29.
