Callum Beattie has announced his third studio album.
The follow-up to 2023's 'Vandals' is titled 'Indi' and will arrive on January 23 marking his first release for Cooking Vinyl.
Produced by Joe Cross, whose previous credits include Courteeners and Louis Tomlinson, the record's songs are described as among the Scottish artist's most personal to date, focusing on themes of inner struggle, self-discovery, and the pursuit of real love.
To coincide with the news, Beattie has shared the album's lead single and opening track, Two Pretenders, which sets the tone with its soaring heartland rock sound and heart-on-sleeve lyricism. Beattie said:
"Two Pretenders is about two people on the edge of collapse, still desperately clinging to the love they once knew. It’s the sound of heartbreak meeting hope, of fighting for something that’s slipping away, but refusing to let go without a final, honest try. At its core, it’s a plea for connection in the chaos. The chorus says it all: ‘Throwing our hearts in the fire, clinging to the embers’."
The album's announcement comes ahead of the singer-songwriter's biggest headline show to date at Glasgow's 14,000-capacity OVO Hydro on November 22, which he'll follow with newly confirmed shows in Manchester, Newcastle, London, Bristol and Birmingham between March 20 and 28. Tickets for the new dates go on general sale at 10am next Friday (September 19).
Last September, Beattie self-released the single Something In My Eye, but it will not appear on the new album.
