Chrissie Hynde has teamed up with k.d. lang for a cover of Me And Mrs Jones.

The stripped back, soulful reimagining of Billy Paul's 1972 slow jam features The Pretenders singer-guitarist and Canadian artist sharing the vocal duties in a quietly captivating duet. Recalling her first encounter with k.d. lang, Hynde said:

"I met k.d. on a tour we did. Very early days. It was up in Canada and we bonded right from the start because of our mutual interest in animal welfare."

Following Always On My Mind featuring Rufus Wainwright, it marks the second preview of 'Duets Special', due out through Parlophone on October 17. Other guests on the project include Blondie's Debbie Harry, Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, the late Mark Lanegan, Cat Power, The Killers' Brandon Flowers, and Shirley Manson of Garbage.

The album marks the fourth solo studio album from Hynde, following her band's most recent release, 'Relentless', in 2023.
