New Project From Gerard Way And The Interrupters The Mock-Ups Drop Debut Song I Wanna Know Your Name

Wednesday, 17 September 2025 Written by Jon Stickler

The Mock-Ups, the new project of Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance and members of The Interrupters, have shared their debut song.

Featuring Way on vocals and bass, with Aimee and Kevin and Jesse Bivona from The Interrupters contributing backing vocals, keyboards and production, and drums, respectively, I Wanna Know Your Name delivers a punchy, punk-tinged burst of energy driven by Way's signature emotive style.

The track was engineered by the late Doug McKean, a long-time collaborator of My Chemical Romance, with guitar duties credited to Michael Schulz.

Los Angeles boutique label Gauzy Records teased the new song in a cryptic social media post last weekend, but it's still unclear whether it's a one-off release or the beginning of a full-time band.

My Chemical Romance, whose latest studio album is 2010's 'Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys', recently wrapped up the North American leg of their Long Live The Black Parade Tour, performing their renowned 2006 third album in its entirety. They're set to bring the show to the UK next July for two nights at London's Wembley Stadium.

The Interrupters released their most recent album, 'In The Wild', in 2022. They'll play Punk In The Park in Los Angeles next month, followed by shows on the Vans Warped Tour in Orlando this November. Tickets are on sale now.
