Ulrika Spacek have announced a new album.
The follow-up to 2023's 'Compact Trauma' is titled 'EXPO' and will arrive on February 6, marking the band's first release since signing with independent London label Full Time Hobby. They said:
"Our music has always been a collage — a bit patchwork, sonically — but what makes this album a landmark for us is that we went one step further and made our own sound bank and essentially sampled ourselves."
As a preview, the band have shared the first single from the record, Build a Box Then Break It, a hypnotic art-rock track that blends swirling, dreamy synths with crashing percussion and taut, jangly guitars.
Ulrika Spacek have also scheduled the 13th edition of their self-curated club night Oysterland, which mixes the band's live performance with art exhibitions, for November 19 at London's Club Cheek. Tickets are on sale now.
The group released the single Interesting Corners back in May, but it will not appear on the album.
'EXPO' tracklist:
1. Intro
2. Picto
3. I Could Just Do It
4. Build a Box Then Break It
5. This Time I'm Present
6. Showroom Poetry
7. Expo
8. Square Root of None
9. Weights & Measures
10. A Modern Low
11. Incomplete Symphony
