Clean Cut Kid Announce Sixth Album 'Seven Sounds, Forever'

Friday, 21 November 2025 Written by Jon Stickler

Clean Cut Kid have laid out plans for their sixth studio album.

The Liverpool quartet have taken to social media to announce 'Seven Sounds, Forever', accompanied by a statement from frontman Mike Halls, who wrote:

"I spent most of spring 2024, alone. Ev was away touring, and the light in my little Yorkshire terrier ‘Bea’ was beginning to fade. I decided that these were perfect conditions for a Clean Cut Kid album, but instead of diving in; I wrote a rule book for the record. 1. The album will be 100% live to 8 track tape, unedited and raw. 2. The album will be performed a-tempo, using only my internal feel as a guide to its rhythm. 3. The album will be recorded using only one microphone, a large French ribbon. 4. The album will feature ONLY SEVEN SOUNDS.

"I had no idea how “far” this simple set of rules would take me. I spent months scaling the walls of my deepest emotions, exposing parts of myself that frightened and embarrassed me, and detailing to tape my ultimate journal entry. ‘Seven Sounds, Forever’ HAS to come out now. Because the dog is dead, and Ev is pregnant, and nothing captured in that journal entry will make sense once ‘he’ (the baby) arrives. I have no plan for this release, but I know touring will be delayed until summer next year. So I NEED you all to do your thing. Please buy it on vinyl, but beyond that PLEASE give it your precious time if you can. Try to place yourself where I ‘was’ when I made it, try to make its track listing familiar, a space to exist in for half an hour. Tell your mates, share it. Be amazing like you always have been. Clean Cut Kid are back, but only on record…..for the time being."

According to the album's pre-order website, the follow-up to 2023's 'A Crisis of Faith at the Death of a Loved One' will ship on December 17.
