The Grammy-nominated American rapper will release 'Zavier' on March 27, with the announcement coming alongside a teaser trailer just two months after his release from prison in January. Speaking in the clip about his return, he said:
"When you lose the money everybody think that’s the worst part. When you lose them shows and calls stop coming through, the room start to get smaller, the noise fade away, and when it get real quiet that’s when it hit different.
"You see, I got so used to hearing Fetty everywhere I go, before I even knew who Zavier was. Somewhere in all that, I became a character in my own life. People really loved what I could provide for real, not who I really was.
"Then the chains come on, stage disappear, the applause stop, Fetty start sounding real different when it ain't attached to nothing. No money, no lights, no attention, it's just you. Gotta ask yourself, do you even know who that is anymore
"Cuz when they take everything away, all you got left is a person your mama named you. People call me Fetty. But the people who know me call me Zavier."
The New Jersey star, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, will celebrate 'Zavier' with shows along the East Coast of the US next month, beginning with a sold-out hometown show at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair on April 4, followed by dates in Hartford in Connecticut, Albany in New York and Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania, with more dates set to be announced. Tickets are on sale now.
Fetty Wap was found guilty of drug-related charges in 2022 and was released from prison in Minnesota in early January after serving part of a six-year sentence. He is now completing the remainder under home confinement in New Jersey, with his term set to end on November 8.
He returned last year with Forever (71943509), his first solo release in over two years. He released his latest album, 'King Zoo', in 2023.
