Stephen Wilson Jr. Releases New Single Preacher's Kid

Stephen Wilson Jr. has shared a new single called Preacher’s Kid.
More raw and rock-orientated than his earlier track Gary, the song blends Americana and coutnry influences with reflective songwriting on themes of faith, identity and small-town upbringing. He explained:
"Preachers kid (pk): based on a true story(s). I saw the light that was the underbelly of a catfish and it can be as compelling fodder for storytelling as any other abstract inspirer. Broken and conflicted like us all, a small town can be a world. Another world within a world when the world was once much smaller. While being adamantly instructed to avoid the worldly, I attended a class in church that taught you how to speak in tongues and that swearing is sin. I witnessed exorcisms before lunch and a crying youth pastor preaching an impending Armageddon stole my girlfriend in high school."
The Indiana-born, Nashville-based songwriter will head to the UK and Ireland for performances at the inaugural State Fayre festival in Chelmsford and Dublin's Trinity Summer Series later this month, before returning for multiple US festival dates throughout the summer, including several shows on Willie Nelson'sOutlaw Music Festival tour. In the autumn, he'll take his Gary The Torch Tour across Europe and the UK, followed by additional US dates at the end of the year.
Wilson Jr. recently earned his first Academy of Country Music Award in the Visual Media of the Year category for the video to Cuckoo, which he co-directed with his longtime creative collaborator Tim Cofield. The track features on his 2023 debut double album, 'Søn Of Dad', which was followed by a deluxe edition last year.
