Motionless In White Tease 'Decades' With New Single R.I.P. Featuring Skylar Grey

Motionless In White have shared another track from their upcoming seventh album.
Delivering a dark, gothic edge and dialling up the emotional intensity, R.I.P. features powerful guest vocals from Skylar Grey and arrives with a cinematic video directed by Jensen Noen, who previously helmed the band's video's for Werewolf and Sign Of Life from their 2022 album 'Scoring The End Of The World'. Vocalist Chris Motionless said:
"Skylar's voice brought it to another level that I never could have achieved on my own. I really love the lyrics for this song. Even though I wrote it through a romantic lens, I love that it can be applied to any moment in your life when you've had a falling out with someone you deeply care about, whether that's a best friend, family member, or romantic partner."
He continued: "The song really hones in on the deafening silence that follows after you've said hurtful things to one another that you wish you could take back. It's meant to capture the tension that exists in that quiet space of separation. You want to apologize and make things right, but you don't know how. You want to tell them you love them more than anything and can't live without them, but there's a lot of pain on both sides that has to be confronted first. All the while, you're left with the crippling uncertainty of whether the relationship can ever recover and move forward, or if it's destined to be laid to rest and gone forever."
It follows the Scranton metalcore band's earlier tracks Playing God featuring Slipknot's Corey Taylor and Afraid Of The Dark, which dropped at the start of the year, in previewing 'Decades', due out on July 17 via Roadrunner Records. In addition to Grey and Taylor, Dark Divine's Anthony Martinez also features on the album.
Having recently completed a spring North American arena tour supporting Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White will return to Australia later this month for their first headlining shows in the region since 2017. Billed as the Afraid Of The Dark Tour, the run features arena shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane on June 24, 26 and 28, respectively, with support from Make Them Suffer and Currents.
They'll return to North America in July for The Sweat and Blood Tour, featuring support from Lorna Shore, Fit For A King, and Static Dress, followed by a second leg in the fall with Dayseeker, The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Divine. Tickets are on sale now.
